Beginning Research - Cadena Family
Hello,
I'm looking for information about my great-grandmother's family, the Cadena's.
The earliest ancestor on the incomplete tree I have is Andres Cadena, father of Antonio Cadena. They were alive in the early to mid-1700's.
Andres Cadena was taken hostage in 1745, and was never seen again, although many years later, a merchant in Mondova, Coahuila came by a piece of leather with the note: "Andres Cadena is far up North, without hope of returning."
I also have the names of people in subsequent generations, down to my grandmother, Maria Flores Cadena. These Cadenas would have lived in Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Texas (which was part of Mexico at the time)
If anyone has any information, or if I can be of help with what little I have, please let me know!
Thank you very much
