Hi Lynnda!I have amassed quite a bit of information on the
Afro-American Caddell family in Carthage and surrounding
areas in Moore County, N.C.The first husband and wife we
have documented are Joseph Caddell (b. abt. 1820) and wife
Eliza Burris (b. abt. 1823).Birth years are approximate
and from the 1860 Moore Co., N.C. census. Two of their sons
are Archie Caddell(b. abt. 1854 d. Mar. 27, 1923-dates from
death certificate) and Isaac Caddell (b. abt. 1856).
Three of Archie's children (I have identified 10 children so far) are Joseph Thomas (b. 7-5-1897), Ada (b. abt. 1897), and Nannie C. (b. abt. 1903).
Archie's wife was Caroline "Callie" Tyson (b. abt. 1865)
Isaac's wife was Judie Richardson (b. abt. 1860).I have only found one child, a son Charles H. (b. Jan. 5, 1883) so far.
Although I am white, this Caddell family interests me as I learn more all the time and have reason to believe that in the past the families of the Caddell lines I am researching in Moore Co., N.C. were close and looked out for each other during the difficult years after the Civil War.
If you are interested, I will email you directly and send you the information I have collected.
