I am trying to find more information on my husband's Cabler line. We *KNOW* he is descended from the Germanna tribe, but we have never been able to pinpoint through which person. We have concrete information from his G-G-G-Grandfather James Boyd Cabler I, who was born in 1832. Then, I have been told by other researchers that James Boyd was the brother to John Mack (1826 or so) and Mary Jane Cabler of Columbia/Maury Co. Tennessee. Their father was Benjamin Cabler (J.M. shows up w/Ben on 1850 census) and their mother was Rebecca Moss. From this point, we are lost. Ben and Rebecca were married in October of 1821, in Davidson Co. TN, and I have been told that they are BOTH buried in the Nashville City Cemetery, but if so, in unmarked graves. In the 1850 census, Ben and his son John are living with a family as carpenters, while Rebecca or "Reba" if this is the same one is living just across town with who I presume to be either a child, or a nephew and his wife - Pryor Cabler. Finally, I am also seeking information on Sarah Elizabeth Forsythe Cabler or Sarah Elizabeth Kellam Cabler, the 1st and 2nd wives of James Boyd Cabler's. He married both in Maury Co. TN around 1858 & 1864 respectively. There is a Mrs. Sarah E. Cabler in the Nashville City Cemetery that I wonder is one of his. I know that a Calvin Cabler lived a county or two away and also had a wife named Sarah E. but as James Boyd actually LIVED in the area, I presume this one to be his - which one, I do not know, and I do know that typhoid and cholera were both prevalent in the area at the time. As always any info regarding the above is greatly appreciated!!! Notify Administrator about this message?
