I'm the great granddaughter of Taylor Scott Cabaniss, through his son George Marion Cabaniss. During the civil war Sanford was captured at Vicksburg and gave his pardon -his civil war record shows that & I think I got that through the state of Alabama. At that point I lost Sanford. Taylor Scott continued to fight & was mustered out at the end of the war. The family of Sanford was living outside of Taladega Al at that time. Next time I found Taylor Scott was when he & his wife Destimonia Howell & I think her brother ended up in Santa Roas county Florida (near the town of Milton). Taylor Scott bought about 200 acres, they had a passle of kids and in the early 1900's or so some of the children along with Taylor Scott went to Oklahoma near where William Parks was living along the Red River. At that point sometime Taylor Scott's son George Marion met & married my grandmother, Jimmie Bradford Brinkley. Taylor Scott, his wife & children came back to Santa Rosa county because of some trouble my grandfather & grand uncle got into.
