Joe, I believe Ellen is saying that Harriet Elizabeth is a grandchild rather than a child of Elijah.

I was most interested in your message because I did not know that Elijah's middle name was Belcher. Can you point me to the documentation on this? You see, I, too, descend from Elijah through his son, Anthony Roland Cabaniss who came to Mississippi from Virginia. Abner was in his household in Mississippi in 1860.

Allen Cabaniss was a professor of history at Ole Miss when I attended that University many years ago. I met him but at that time was unaware of the Cabaniss connection. However, I did contact him some years later to obtain a copy of his book and to give him some corrected data on my line.

Have you ever had any indications regarding the maiden name of Patsy, wife of Elijah Cabaniss?
