Mary Hopkins Cabell, known as "Grandma Black Cap," died in very cold winter of 1858. Buried in a heavy metal coffin with a glass plate over the face. Originally buried at Cabell's Dale--Disinterred and reburied Lexington Cemetery 3 Sept. 1884. She married the Honorable John Breckinridge in 1785. I believe she was the daughter of a Col. Joseph Cabell. Would really appreciate any information to fill in her family. Would be glad to supply much Breckinridge information to anyone interested.
