Quoting from p. 136 of Cabell & Their Kin (1939 edition):
"To this original estate he [Col. Wm., son of Dr. Wm.] continued to add...by purchase from sundry persons namely,...Peter Cartwright (ancestor of the celebrated Rev. Peter Cartwright, of the Illinois Conference)."

There is also an entry on p. 334 for Mrs. Mildred M. Cabell Green [daughter of Col. Samuel Jordan Cabell, son of Col. Wm., son of Dr. Wm.] who married (second) Major Levin Cartwright, U.S.A. They had one son, Levin Cartwright who died young.
