MURDER TRIALS -- During the week ending on the 15th inst., the District Court of Tuolumne county was almost exclusively occupied in the trial of murder cases.

-SMITH and TINDER were tried for the murder of one W.A. CARROLL;
SMITH was acquitted, but in TINDER's case the jury failed to agree -- standing 5 for conviction and 7 for acquittal.
