BIRTH -- in the same city, Feb. 27th, a daughter to Mr.& Mrs. M.W. PARSONS.
MARRIED -- at the residence of the bridegroom, on the San Joaquin, by A.G. BROWN, Esq.; Mr. Jacob TRAPP, printer, formerly of Pennsylvania, to Miss Sally Ann GOODMAN.
DIED -- in Soquel, Feb. 17th, of heart disease, John SHERMERHORN, aged 39 years.
DIED -- in Columbia, on Saturday, the 22d ult., at the residence of her husband, Martha Caroline HOWARD, wife of Henry PILEY, aged 35 years.

DEATH of a PIONEER STOCKTONIAN -- We regret to learn that Mr. John H. KEELER, late of this city, died in Benicia on Sunday evening last, of consumption. Mr. KEELER was among the earliest settlers of Stockton, having emigrated hither from New York in 1849, and made this city his place of residence from that time until his recent connection with the 3rd Regiment, as Sutler, which necessitated his removal to Benicia. Prior to the establishment of the "Shades" by the deceased, in the fall of 1851, he was engaged in running an express between this city and the mining camps on the Stanislaus and Tuolumne rivers, in which he was pecuniarily successful. His connection with the "Shades Saloon" brought him into intimate relationship with sporting men throughout the State, and gained him troops of friends among those who will regret his demise. He leaves a wife and adopted daughter, and a number of relatives, some of whom took their departure on the steamer yesterday for the purpose of paying the last tribute of respect to one who possessed many sterling qualities of the heart. Mr. KEELER was 47 years of age, and a native of New York city.

DIED -- in Chile Camp, March 1st, 1862, John FRAHIL, aged 65 years, a native of the parish of Abington, county Limerick, Ireland.
DIED -- in San Francisco , Feb. 28th, Edward J. SMITH, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., aged 32 years.

EDWARD GILBERT -- The body of Edward GILBERT, who was one of the original editors of the 'Alta California' newspaper, and one of the 1st members of Congress from this State, and who was in the year 1852 slain in a duel with Gen. DENVER, was exhumed from its 1st burial-place on Tuesday last, by the San Francisco (Eureka) Typographical Union, and re-interred in Lone Mountain Cemetery.

SUPPOSED MURDER -- A Chilean named Francisco BARRA was recently murdered, as it is supposed, near San Lorenzo, in Santa Cruz county. The body was found with evidences of a brutal murder.
SUICIDE -- A Frenchman named Louis AUGER committed suicide at San Francisco on Wednesday, by suffocating himself with charcoal in a tight room.
TOO YOUNG -- William GORFINKLE, who enlisted as a soldier at San Francisco, sues out a habeas corpus, asking to be discharged on the ground that he is too young for a soldier, being but 16 years of age.
