Thank you for straightening out that information! I posted incorrectly. What I should have written was Herschel's grandfather and grandmother.... I have Herschel's parents as:
Joe Calvin Rucker (b. 3/27/1881) and Dolly Elizabeth Davis (b. 6/1882). I don't have death dates for his parents either, but I have listed that they were married in about 1903 in Callahan Co., TX. Dolly Davis was born in Admiral, TX. Joe Calvin Rucker was the only son of Oliver J. Rucker (b. 1/1852) and Sue P. Holloway (b. 1/1862) who were married about 1880 in Erath Co., TX. I have siblings for Herschel as follows: J.C. Rucker (b. bet. 1910-1915); Kerney Rucker b. 1/28/1916; L. Violet Rucker b. Oct. or Nov. 1918. Joe Calvin Rucker registered for WWI while he was living in Baird, Callahan Co., TX in 1918 and he was living on RFD 3. The whole family appears on the 1920 census in Callahan Co., TX and by the 1930 census they are listed in Scurry, Snider Co., TX. Per John Russell Holloway's obituary (brother of Sue P. Holloway), Joe Calvin Rucker was living in Cleburne, TX (1931) Further notes I have for Herschel were that he was married and divorced. Herschel's brother J.C. Herschel died in infancy and is buried in Oplin, Callahan Co., TX. I think Kerney Rucker died in Siskiyou on 2/24/1963. I think his wife's name was Velma. I haven't found more information on Violet Rucker yet, but my notes said she married and had one child. (My notes came from my husband's grandmother, who wrote down all she could remember about her ancestry, just before she died in the 1980's. Thanks again for straightening out my information and perhaps these further details will help someone to help us find descendants of this family.
