Hello Pineo/Pinneo relations. Was sorting through my pile of genealogy papers and came across this obit on Lizzie (my great grandmother) via Homer James Pinneo Sr. It was sent to me in 2000 by a California researcher. Source: Tulare Advanced Register, August 26, 1965 Thank you for sending it to me. I am sorry I lost the original senders contact information. Mrs. Lizzie B Pinneo, 88, a Tulare resident for 60 years, died Wednesday at the Woodlake home of a daughter, Mrs. Otis (Helen) Alford. A native of Shelby County, Iowa, Mrs. Pinneo lived at 740 No. H Stree. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was a practical nurse. She is survived by three sons, George Pinneo, Ukiah; Homer J. Pinneo, Sacramento; Five daughters, Mrs. Lois Harris and Ms. Leland (Ruth) Houck,Tulare; Mrs. Herbert (Ernestine) Clark, Sacramento; and Mrs. Alford; a sister, Mrs. Louella Lister, North Platte, Neb; two brothers, Dr. Homer Whitney, Summerfield, Fla., and Chester Whitney, Seattle, Wash; 27 grandchildren; 65 great-great grandchildren and 15 great-great-granchildren. Services are pending at Hamilton Pierce Funeral Services. *My uncle Homer James Pinneo, Jr. (aka Jim), told me the story of Little Grandma's death (she was called little grandma due to her size), he said she had spend the day canning peaches with her daughters and when they all sat down that evening for supper she bowed her head and quickly passed away, her head coming to a rest on her supper plate. He said she was a devoted Christian woman who was kind to all. Notify Administrator about this message?
