Searching for any descendants of Micager or Micajah Brooks who settled in Tulare County, California in the 1850's or 1860's. He was a farmer, a stockman, who raised sheep. He traveled by ox-team from Denton County, Texas. He and Susan were originally from Georgia. He brought with him his first wife, Susan Elaine Sansing, and several children. Susan died in 1869 and was buried at the Deep Creek Cemetery in Farmersville. Micager married a widow, Mahala Goodin Starnes, in 1870 and had another large family of children. Mahala had a son, William Starnes, by her first husband. Late in the 1890's or so, Micager and Mahala moved to Harrington, Lincoln County, Washington where they lived out the rest of their lives. Micager died in 1907 and Mahala died some years later.
There were too many children to mention here, but one of them was Parker Rice Brooks, who had several children in Tulare County. If any persons have any information they would like to share, I would enjoy hearing from them. For further information and a list of the many children of this family, please e-mail me directly.
