I found E B, Hannah and children Hand in th 1860 Census in Tehama, Tehama Co., CA.
I didn't find anything else for this family in earlier Censuses.

I'd check with the Tehama County Clerk-Recorder's Office, and ask them to search for E B's death cert. If they don't have ones that old, ask if they were sent to an Archives.

I'd also contact Random Acts Genealogical Kindness, for his obituary. Go to their web site, read guidelines, click on California and click on Tehama County.

OR contact the Tehama County Library, .

The Tehama County Genealogical & Historical Society might have more information about Edward B Hand. They might have an early county book which mentions his name and his parents too.

If they don't look for this book on Google Books, Heritage Quest (generally available through your local library) or FamilySearch (Mormon Church's web site). Successful Searching!
