I'm desperately searching for ANY information on my great grandfather, William J. Poire. I have two official documents that proved that this man did exist. The first is a marriage certificate. On March 27, 1910 in Red Bluff, Tehama, California, William married Francis Louise Hunter of Washington State. The document states that he was 25 years old (making his birth year to be about 1885) and he was born in New Hampshire. And it said he was a resident of Tehama, California.
The second document is a copy of the 1910 Federal Census in California. William was married to Francis, had a child, lived in a rented house, and William was a farm laborer. It also says his parents were from Canada.
William and Francis had one child, Gordon Hunter Poire (b. June 11, 1908). We do not know where Gordon was born. HE didn't know where he was born. Sometime around 1920 the couple divorced. Gordon lived alternately in California with his mother and in Hawaii with his aunt. When Francis died in 1937, Gordon was living in Hawaii.
No one knows what became of William. We do not know who his family was or if he remarried. I'm pretty sure William has passed away. Please e-mail me if you know who this person is. Thank you.
