April 16, 1912 -- Nov. 26, 2000 Rose Catherine Arens, 88, of Modesto died Nov. 26 at Arbor Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Arens was a native of Minnesota. She lived in Modesto 18 years. She was retired after a teaching career for St. Callistus Catholic School, Garden Grove. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Joseph Arens of Nevada City, Margaret Bachmeier of Modesto, Carolyn Bruns and Teresa Nasers, both of Minnesota, Bonita Bibbs of Michigan and John Arens of Santa Maria; brothers, Joseph Hartman of Minnesota and John Hartman of Washington; sisters, Teresa Moser, Germaine Dunn and Marilyn Fest, all of Minnesota; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The rosary will be at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery, Wilmont, Minn.
