http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ca/death/search.cgi says he died in Stanislaus County and his MMN was Weiss. http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi?ssn=552-20-9581 says his last residence was Tracy, one county north of us, in San Joaquin County. I looked through the Modesto Bee from 1 May to 7 May 1995 without finding an obit. If I was guessing I'd say there was a reasonable chance he lived in Tracy but was in a hospital/rest home in Modesto when he died. You could try a post on the San Joaquin board, but it is not as active as this one.
