I believe that the ages given for Harry and Mary REID in the 1930 Census were incorrect. I was able to find the couple in the 1920 Census (Newman, Stanislaus County) and their ages were 56 years and 53 years. Their son, Frank, listed as Francis B. Reid, age 5 years 6 months, was also recorded in the 1920 Census along with a granddaughter, Margaret M. JENSEN, age 8 years 3 months.

When I researched their son, Henry Clay REID, I found that during the WWI Draft he was recorded in Little Lake, Mendocino County. I decided to trace the other REID in the city at the time, Charles Dewey REID. His draft card lists his father's name as Harry REID.

I was able to confirm that both Henry Clay REID and Charles Dewey REID were brothers and living in the household of a Harry and Mary REID in San Mateo County in 1900. Harry and Mary's ages match the ages given in the 1920 Census. Several other children were also in the census. Daughter Margaret (1893-1984) later married a man named JUDGE. She is listed in the California Death Index in San Mateo County, mother's maiden name DAVENPORT and father's surname REED (please note spelling).

Unfortunately I have not been able to confirm any of this from obituary records or other documents. I do see though from a June 8th post from a lady called Marsha that she also came up with the same information for you. Maybe that's a good sign! Anyhow, I will keep looking.

P.S. I could provide you with a list of REID who died in Stanislaus County if you'd like. Though I cannot find Harry or Mary, it does appear that Charles Dewey REID died there on 5 September 1938.
