has just one Christian dying in Stanislaus county:
CHRISTIAN JAMES A 03/26/1916 M CALIFORNIA STANISLAUS 05/08/1979
His obituary reads:
Oakdale - Final rites will be conducted at 10:30 am Friday for James A Christian, who died Tuesday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
A native of Bishop, Christian had been a resident of Oakdale 43 years. He ran a butane operation for eight years and had been employed by Oakdale Irrigation District for 20 years.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masonic Lodge and Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
He leaves his wife, Florence; daughters, Joan Scarlata of Ripon and Patricia Yates of Ventura; three sisters, including Winnie Linscott of Modesto, and one brother.
