Modesto Bee, Tuedsay 24 April 1973, p. B-5
Robert Lee Adams, 75, of Modesto and formerly of Sonora [Tuolumne County] died yesterday in a local convalescent hospital following a long illness.
A native of Missouri, he retired from the lumbering industry in the Sonora area and moved to Morgan Hill [??? County - maybe Santa Clara] where he owned and operated a service station before moving to Modesto a year ago.
Survivors are daughters Vera Bennison of Gustine [Stanislaus], Dorothy Snyder and Helen Johnson, both of Modesto; a sister, Jean Dwyer of Michigan; a brother, Bert Chasteen of California [half brother?]; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Franklin and Downs Funeral Home. Private burial will be in the Acacia Memorial Park [Modesto].
Notes I put on all of these, if I remember:
Franklin & Downs is still in business. You could look them up in an on-line phone book and write or call. They may have more information.
I will send you the microfilm print-out if you send me your address privately.
If you have th einclination and ability, you can repay the favor by looking up an obituary for someone who posted a request on the GenForum page for your county. I do these to repay a small regiment of people who have helped me.
