DIED FROM HIS WOUNDS -- We yesterday received a letter from La Grange, Stanislaus county, stating that Dr. George W. KING, who had the pistol fight mentioned a few days since in the 'Independent,' with Mr. CALHOUN, died from the effects of his wounds, on the 19th of February. He was buried on the 21st. CALHOUN, it was thought could not recover and his death was expected every day.

Since the above was put in type we received another letter informing us of the death of Mr. CALHOUN on Saturday, Feb. 22d.
