Funeral services for George Curtis, 55, owner of a market on Tully Road who died Sunday will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Salas Brothers-Moore Funeral Chapel.

He had resided in Modesto eight years. Rev. J. E. Young, Seventh Day Adventist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Jay Mortenson

Jay Mortenson, 72, of Ceres died Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Mortenson was a native of Morgan, Utah. He lived in Ceres 35 years. He was a federal employee and worked at Tracy Defense Depot 13 years. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He served in the Navy from 1942 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona Mortenson of Ceres; children Jay D. Mortenson of Grand Ledge, Mich.; Bonnie J. Mellor of Turlock and Jerry Mortenson of Ceres; a brother, Dean Mortenson of Bountiful, Utah; and six grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday at Lakewood Memorial park, Hughson. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, Modesto.
