Peter V. Dorland, 85, is Called by Death

Peter Vanalstine Dorland, 85, of Modesto, died yesterday after a lengthy illness.

Dorland was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Thomas Dorland of Modesto and uncle of J. Wilkinson Dorland of Modesto and Philip O. Dorland of Denair. [Denair is in Stanislaus County too.]

A retired rancher, Dorland lived her 26 years. He was a native of Canada.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Sovern Funeral Home. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery. [In Modesto.]

I looked through the newspapers from 23 February to 5 March without finding anything about Elizabeth Patterson.

Other notes:
has 5 Dorlands who died in Stanislaus County. I didn't try the name Dorland in the Father's Surname or MMN boxes. You should.

Sovern has gone out of business.

I do these to "pay forward" a number of favors other people have done for me. If you have the time and inclination, you can do likewise in your county.

I will send you the paper copy if you send me your postal address privaetly.
