Leonard Holtz - A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Franklin and Downs Colonial Chapel for Leonard Samuel Holtz, 85, who died in his Modesto home Friday after a short illness.
Born in Berkeley [Alameda County], Mr. Holtz was a lifelong resident of California. He had lived in Modesto more that 35 years and was a retired maintenance man for the U. S. Government. Mr. Holtz was a World War I Army veteran and member of the World War veterans' Barracks no. 254, life member of V.F.W. Post No. 3199, the Senior Citizens' Friday group and the Forever Young Club.
His only known survivor is a nephew, Arthur Lucia, of Sacramento. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 5 tp 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday in the Franklin and Downs Chapel.
