Looking for Carroll Bowen listed in the 1870 census of Stanislaus Co., Empire Twp., Paradise City, CA. I believe this individual is my great-graet grandfater's Andrew Jackson Bowen's brother. He was born about 1828 in Tn., he has a wife Nancy, and at least 8 children. He lived in Newton, Boone, and Carroll Counties in 1850's AR. Has a land patent issued in 1857 Newton Co., AR (listed as Carroll Boen).
Family stories say that Andrew, Carroll and another brother
Henry or Harrison were on there way to CA. to find gold when word reached them that Andrew's wife and son were murdered by bushwhackers back in AR. Andrew, and Henry or Harrison turned back, while Carroll continued on.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Matt
