I went to the Modesto Library to see what the Modesto "Bee" said. Exactly when they came to Turlock is still a mystery.

Funeral Services For Ruth Bussell Will Be Conducted Thursday
Turlock. Sept. 26 - Funeral Services for Ruth Bussell will be held at 2PM Thursday at the Hale Funeral Chapel. She died following a short illness at a local hospital yesterday morning.
She was a native of Illinois but moved to Nebraska when she was young. She resided there 30 years and married Clarence R. Bussell. The couple moved to Southern California in 1936 and the Turlock area five years ago.
Besides her widower, Clarence R. Bussell, she leaves a son, Brice, Eugene, Ore.; four sisters, Mrs. Addie Christenson and Mrs. Effie Steffler, both of Nebraska, Mrs. Maude Haggard, Baldwin Park [Southern. Calif.] and Mrs. Myrtle Bowers, Colorado; a brother, Ralph Edwards, Los Angeles, and two grandchildren.
Rev. H. H. Allen, retired First Methodist Church minister, will officiate. Interment will be in the Turlock Cemetery.

Clarence R. Bussell
TURLOCK - Last rites will be held at 2 pm tomorrow in he Allen Mortuary for Clarence R. Bussell, 78, of Modesto, who died yesterday in a Modesto Hospital.
A native of Nebraska, he moved to Corona, Riverside County, in 1927 and settled in Turlock three years later.
He retired from his veterinarian practice in 1953 and moved to Modesto.
Survivors include his widow, Gertrude; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gladys Verrusio of Modesto and Mrs. Vera Perkins of Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County; a sister, Bessie Meek of Walnut, Los Angeles County; a brother, Oscar Bussell of Wyoming; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Rev. H. H. Allen, retired pastor of the First Methodist Church of Turlock, will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Turlock Cemetery.

Gertrude A. Bussell
April 4, 1926 - April 19, 1997
Gertrude A. Bussell, 71, of Modesto died Saturday at her home.
Ms. Bussell was a native of Stetin, Germany. She lived in Modesto 40 years. She was a nut processor for Haig Berberian. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. She was also a member of the German Club, Hermonsohn, No. 50.
She is survived by her sister, Kate Schwanter of Hamburg, Germany.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Internment will be private.
