HOMICIDE -- The Deputy Sheriff of Sonoma county, whose name was
CAMPBELL, was shot dead on the 24th instant by one BAKER whose father he was in the act of arresting. CAMPBELL had shot the elder BAKER, but not fatally, when the younger one drew his rifle and shot the sheriff in the right breast, killing him in 4 minutes.
