You are welcome. I have never called people out of the blue, but I have written to them. I wrote to everyone living in a particular county who shared my grandmother's maiden name. When I did, I started the letter by saying it would be odd to them, unless the genealogy bug had bitten them, that I didn't want money and I wasn't selling anything. You might want to think up a good, non-threatening opening line beforehand if you decide to call people.

Most of the calls people get from strangers are strangers trying to sell something, so they will be wary.
