You will "probably" be ordering an "Information Copy" not a certified copy. The fee is $12.00, not $8.00.

I would FIRST call them to inquire if they HAVE death certificates back to 1894. http://www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/recorder/index.htm

I would also suggest you use a LOCAL volunteer to first help. The Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness have three volunteers in Siskiyou CO (READ THE GUIDELINES FIRST). Wilma does lookups in the "courthouse" (that includes the location of the County Recorder). I would ask her about the death certificates availability in Siskiyou County in 1894.
