A NEW DITCHER FOR THE TULES -- A steam ditching
machine, for cutting ditches on tule lands, is on
exhibition in Sacramento city. It was invented by
J.A. FLETCHER, of Yreka. The cost is $8,000. It is adjusted at present to cut a ditch 46 inches wide at the top, 26 wide at the bottom and 36 inches deep. It is calculated by the inventor that it will cut about 3 miles per day when in complete order and fairly started.
