James Boyce, born 1854 in Nebraska appears on the 1910 census for this county. Believe him to be son of Josiah & Margaret Cotten Boice of Washington County Nebraska. A 1908 obituary of Lucinda Boice Fairchild mentions she is survived by brother James Boyce of California. Does anyone have info on James and any family. Surname has many different spellings. My line has used the "I" variant for 3 generations, because my 2nd great grandfather and his first wife were cousins, all descendents of both his marriages are related and children of 2nd marriage use "Y".
