William Henry (Bill) Pepper and Ella Rifenburgh Pepper (my grandparents) moved to what was then called Sisson about 1901. Ella died soon after but I do not have a date for her death.
Bill worked at the Fish Hatchery there and after a fire burned his home down (about 1905-1907) he moved his children to a cottage on the Hatchery grounds.
He married again to a widow, Mrs. Wilhelmina Patchen and they ran a hotel, the Del Coronado, in town for a while. They adopted her orphaned grandson, Merle Dale and he died in his late teens.
I need dates for all the above events, also Mrs. Patchen's maiden name. I would appreciate information on where/whom to write to get the dates, also any possible obituaries.
