Hi Kay, thanks so much for contacting me! Always good to hear from somebody on this forum. I do have all of Richard Sharkey's military records, as well as Mary's pension applications. Really interesting reading. Thanks for the obituary for Alena (Lehan) Sharkey; I didn't have that document. It says she died in 1933 at age 62,which puts her birth in 1871; I have records that show her being born on March 14, 1867....any thoughts on that? Alena's sister, Elizabeth, is my great grandmother, and I have her family Bible, which lists all of the children's birthdates. In addition, the 1880 census puts Alena being born in 1867. I'd be interested in any data you have on Alena and her children. I'm in the beginning stages of writing a book about Richard Sharkey's journey to California, and the eventual joining of that family with the Little's. My Little ancestor fought for the South during the CW, so it's basically the story of North meets South. One family took the Oregon Trail, one used a Model-T. Fun stuff. Anyway, thanks again for writing. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Take care. Mike Little Notify Administrator about this message?
