The Doll Pioneer Family of Shasta County

Looking for information on the Doll pioneer family of Ono, Shasta County, California. Valentine Doll came to Shasta County before 1878. On August 27, 1878 he married Harriett Emma Smith. Valentine is from Stupferich, Germany. He and his brother Ferdinand came to Shasta County but Ferdinand returned to Stupferich to marry and live. They were gold miners. Valentine Doll became a farmer after a fall in a mine that made him a hunchback. In Shasta County history books he is noted as " V. Doll ". He was a member of the Idependent Order of Odd Fellows ( I.O.O.F. ) and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. He can also be found as " Brother V. Doll " too. He and Harriett Emma Smith had four children who are: Eugene Clinton, Kelsey, Clifford Ambros, and Wallace V. Valentine Doll and Harriett Emma Smith are buried in the Ono Cemetery, they are my third great grandparents.

Happy New Year
