I am looking for information that I may not have on the Callaghan Block. I do however, have the phamplet booklet that the Shasta Museum gives out to visitors but I am wondering about one thing, which is:
When the Callaghan Brothers got into a big argument about the store and family Walter William Scott my g,g,g,g grandfather was working under the brothers and running the pack trains. When the argument broke out two of the brother's left and so Mr. Callaghan " First name unknown " promoted Walter William Scott to be part owner. Scott hired his son-in-law who was Joseph C. Gray and he ran the pack trains. It was then known as Scott & Callaghan. I am wondering when as a historical monument it got changed back to the original name as " Callaghan Block " ? Does any body know or have information they would like to share on the Scott pioneer family or Scott & Callaghan pioneer store?
