William Joshua Hammans my great, great grandfather was also city of Redding Police Chief about 1926 to 1930. I tried contacting the RPD station for information and they could not furnish me any except what was on a plaque at the RPD station listing his surname as HAMMONS.

William Hammans was also a pioneer of the Shasta Dam area being one of the first property owners. He was a founder of Project City with his son Earl Eugene Hammans. The family is mentioned in Al Rocca's book "Shasta Dam Boomtowns" available at the Shasta Historical Society. Any information on this family is appreciated I don't have a whole lot.

Thanks,

Jeremy Tuggle
