You can check with Santa Cruz Co. Court House of Sacramento for birth records. I remember seeing an epedmic in the Santa Cruz area, but believe that it was the bad flu. Can't remember where I saw it for sure, but go to the web page for Santa Cruz, California and look around. It was in some of the history. It was wide spread, whatever it was. Hope this helps.
