hhmmmmm...
The only thing I can think of is find the site for RAOGK
(Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness) for the Santa Cruz area. I know it's out there... I've just never used it.
Or. try the Calif state query board. There are some very knowledgable folks out there who respond and would probably know.
I live in Nevada, but my mother's people are from the Santa Cruz area. I would do it for you, but not planning any trips that way for awhile.
