Sarah Alexander Wallace (1815-1884), the daughter of Capt. Wm. Wallace (1779-1853) & Mary (Polly) Chamberlain (1784-1844), of Blount Co., TN, m. Learner Blackman Saffell (1810/1815-1874), also of Blount Co., in 1835. He was the son of Samuel Saffell (1777-1850) & Elizabeth (Betsy) Cox (1783-1861). Around 1867, Learner & Sarah moved to Watsonville, Santa Cruz Co., CA, reportedly by way of the sea route around Cape Horn, at the tip of South America.
