Looking for any relatives of S/Sgt. Albert G. Wackermann, b. S.F. on 7 Aug 1915;grew up in Santa Cruz. Sgt. Wackermann was the ball turret gunner aboard a B-17 bomber stationed at Ridgewell Field, Essex England (381st. Bomb Group) in WW-II. The 381st deployed to England from the U.S. in May 1943. Sgt. Wackermann was killed in action when his plane was shot down near LeMans, France on 4 July 1943. He is buried at the Ardennes American Military Cemetery at Neupre, Belgium. Mr. Wackerman was the son of Theodore and Delia Wackerman who operated a bakery in Santa Cruz in the 1920-30's. The son of the pilot of that aircraft is editing a history of the events. I would like to include a biography and picture of Sgt. Wackermann in the final manuscript. I will provide a copy of the work to any person who can make a contribution to this project. Thank you.
