Nancy, I don't know what the group home was The doctor was apparently Carrie Goss (she lists herself as a physician) I found more of her in a later census from SF. My great aunt ended up in Brattleboro Retreat in Vt. I have made contact with someone there and will have quite abit of information from there. So maybe you don't need to research this other. She was retarded I believe and lived until 82 years. It would have been nice to know the institution or HOME that Katherine was in after she left her family home, but I can live without it. My main course, is to add this woman to my family history in order to give her a place for respect and dignity. Carrie Goss also had her mother with her, Susan Chittenden. Later a sister was also classified as a physician, mother still there and someones spouse. I have no more information and I can't yet dig any out of the archives. Don't go to any trouble with this. I appreciate your answer. Thanks,
