Looking for more info on my mother's families--early Californios plus a grandfather from Ohio-Richard W. Taylor b.feb.1833 d. 18jan 1905. Was married twice- #2 wife: Mary R. Silvera or Silviera b. 29 jul 1850 Gilroy d.15 dec.1926 S.Mateo Co. Richard Taylor came to Ca. in 1852 and worked @Almaden Silver mines, then was a vaquero?? Mary's father was Frank Silvera(portuguese sailor jumped ship)and they lived in house nextdoor to John Gilroy and their grandchildren eventually married. Frank Silvera's wife (my mother's g-gm)was Domitilia Gaxiola b.1826 d. 1889 in Gilroy. Her family was from Monterey: Gaxiola/Ximenez and Martinez/Garcia/Lugo and Espinosa are other names.Richard Taylor's #1 wife, I'm not sure of, but he had 4 daughters(Julia Taylor Crews and Pauline Alvas? are two of them--relatives:Manuel Alvas teacher & Hulda, a nurse @ Wheeler Hosp.)He did have a son w/Mary R.Silvera,John W.Taylor b.1878 abt.& died @ 20something in Gilroy and His full Sister was Flora Taylor that married J.Castro. Flora b.16 oct 1874 d.1934.
