BARE/BOLLINGER connections

I recently found a website listing early settlers of Santa Clara County. It appears 2 ancestors (surname BARE), married sisters with the surname of BOLLINGER which is a surname associated with the early settlers of Santa Clara Co. I know that one of the ancestors was to have lived in San Jose, which appears to be in Santa Clara. The other was to have lived at least some time in Belmont. I have a third ancestor, another brother, who was reported to have lived in Oakland. Are these latter two cities in Santa Clara County? All three brothers were reported to have moved due to the gold rush. Thank you. LaVonne Ayres
