Margaret Whitfield married Carl Det(t)man in the 1870's and lived in Santa Barbara County.
She was the sister of my grgrandmother Ellen Whitfield who married James McGeough in San Francisco in 1853. Another sister, Mary Whitfield married William Crook in Santa Clara three yrs. later. The descendants of Ellen and Mary keep in touch to this day. We would love to know about Margaret's family.
Last date in S.B., 1892 -mentioned in her father's will. He died in Sydney, Australia.
