I drove by 533 State Street today for you. The Santa Barbara Hotel is there, an old 2-3 story building, so probably where Dottie Smith resided. However it may have been called something else in '69. Maybe it was an apartment complex. I'll ask around.

I have Smith's in my extended family through marriage-- old Santa Barbara Smith's but do not know if Dottie is part of it. I will ask around for you.
