St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, July 9, 1925, Local Happenings: Mrs. C.A. Miller spent the holiday and weekend in Winnetka with relatives. She has a recent letter from her nephew, Dr. Henry Ullmann of Santa Barbara, Cal., telling of their thrilling experience and great loss of property. The family live in tents. The doctor has not been able to get to his office since the quake. He is at the head of the American Legion out there and is a member of the patrol, doing sentinel duty, almost day and night. They have suffered a severe loss of property. (Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
