If you are a veteran or family member of a veteran, you can obtain copies of DD-214's online. To obtain a DD-214, go to the National Personnel Records Center's Website: http://www.archives.gov/research_room/vetrecs/. You can also get a copy of Standard Form 180 online (http://www.archives.gov/facilities/mo/st_louis/
military_personnel_records/standard_form_180.html), which is the form you need to submit in order to get DD-214's via mail or fax. The new web-based application was designed to provide better service on these requests by eliminating the records center's mailroom processing time. Veterans and next of kin may access this application at this page. For more on requesting and replacing military records, see Military.com's Resource Center: http://www.military.com/Resources/ResourcesContent/0,13964,31457,00.html
