Hi Florence,

Thank you for the neat tidbits of information you provided for me.

I hunted around in my local history books here of Stockton area (few miles north of Collegeville), and came up with the following:

"The Great Register of Voters 1866-1871 of San Joaquin County, CA (compiled by San Joaquin Genealogical Society)":
Francis LaFayette Bourland, age 33, born MS, farmer, living in Castoria township, registered Sept. 25, 1866.

From "Marriage Records of San Joaquin County California Jan. 1866-Dec 1884 Vol II" by San Joaquin Genealogical Society 1973, page 2):

April 17, 1870 Bourland, F. L.and Black, Emma Vol 3 page 49.

I do have a picture of Collegeville Methodist Cemetery from "Cities & Towns of San Joaquin County since 1847" by Raymond W. Hillman and Leonard A. Covello page 208 I will snail mail you if you don't have it (my scanner not working at the moment).
