Genforum suggested I post this on the county forum as this family lived here so many years. I have posted on Trent and Vaughan forums. I am hoping to locate descendents. I have located more information on this daughter of William S. Trent and Elizabeth Carpenter. She was b. 22 Mar 1872 MO and d. 17 Oct 1954 French Camp,San Joaquin, CA. She married Jefferson Franklin Vaughan (b. 18 Nov 1867 MO d. 4 Jun 1940 Stockton, Ca,) on 31 Oct 1889 Ray County MO. Census records gave me this issue: Hattie E. b. Jan 1891 MO, Laura F. b. 21 May 1893 MO, Jennett B. b. Jul 1896 MO, Jessie May b. Sep 1898 Mo, inf Vaughn stillborn Dec 1908 Stockton, CA, Pearl Nadine b. 19 Jul 1913 Stockton, CA. I have located the family in 1900 in Saline County MO. By 1910, they are in Stockton, CA and remain there through the 1930 census and after. In 1900 the child Jennette is called Mattie. On the 1910 census Laura is spelled Lorna F. Information from parent's obits give the following: Pearl Nadine married first to a man named Cornett, as stated in her father'e obit in 1940 but by the death of her mother in 1954 she is Pearl Farris. Pearl Nadine Farris died 12 Oct 1995 CA. Jessie May married Ashley Lewis on 16 Dec 1915 San Joaquin County Ca and had two children: Helen N. b. 11 Dec 1916 and Franklin A. b. 29 Jun 1919. If they had more I didn't find names. Jessie M's death date unknown. Jennette married a Mr. Shaud. Jeanette or Jean is on the 1920 census as single, but by 1924 she had married Mr. Shaud as I found a birth of Margaret Ruth Shaud b. 8 Mar 1925 Sonoma, CA mother's name Vaughan. The obit's of parents name her as living in Stockton area on those dates. Laura or Lorna F. married a Mr Roork. On her father's obit she is named June Roork and on her mother's she is Lorna Roork. She died 6 Oct 1968 San Joaquin County Ca. I found a June Roork in San Francisco 1930 census age 35 and Div. The last child is the mystery to me. Named Hattie E. on the 1900 census, there is no child of that name on either parent's obit. Only the mention of a daughter, Dorothy Rimington predeceased daughter. I located a Dorothy Rimington 30 wd (sometimes Remington) in 1920 SFO census, with sister Jean Vaughan 25 single both as boarders in another apartment. And in the same census, a Weston Rimington 6 Ca living in his aunt Jessie May Lewis's home in Richmond, CA. (Weston was born 19Jun 1913 Ca.d. 11 Apr 1997 OR.) I found Dorothy and Weston on the 1930 census (mistakenly spelled Kennington by the transcriber) Dorothy 38 wd bookkeeper, Weston 16 student. Dorothy apparently died prior to 1940 the death of her father. Now the questions. If any of this family line would contact me, I will make what corrections needed and can supply you with the Iola Trent family back to Henry Trent and Elizabeth Sherman of Va.
