Thanks to a number of researchers, I have made a lot of progress on one of my sibling lines. I do not see anyone looking for this couple or their children at the moment, but that can change..... I wanted to get this posted on a San Diego Co list so that others can find it, just in case. When people from way back east suddenly show up in Cal, it can be a nasty puzzle to track them backwards.
William Calvin Hall b 1867 married Pearl Evelyn Rockwood b 1869. They had two children, Russell and probably Carmina [sometimes indexed as Camma or Carma]. This couple, and probably both children, moved to Ramona, San Diego Co, in abt 1921. William was listed as a chicken farmer in the 1930 census there. Pearl was indexed as 'Pearl R.'
They had met and married in Nebraska, and later lived in Saskatchewan for a number of years before moving to California.
I have at least one generation up on Wm and have Pearl's line back to the first ancestor, with life details along the way. And I have the Canadian homestead files for William and for Pearl's brother Charles.
William Calvin Hall's father was John A. Hall, b IL. Both of John's parents were b NC.
Pearl Evelyn Rockwood's parents were Jerome Edwin Rockwood and Lisetta Tillotson. Lisetta's parents were b in Canada, probably Ontario. Jerome was the son Nathaniel Rockwood and Everline Allen. The Rockwoods were essentially MA to NY and PA. This line is pretty well researched.
If someone comes looking, I would be more than willing to share.
