San Diego Cty info

I grew up in San Diego Cty (Poway) and visit often. For all you searchers-here's the deal. San Diego Cty is huge-it's one of the biggest counties in the nation. There's north, south, and east counties-no west, that's the ocean. Because of its military population, it has been highly transient for many, many years. In the last 30 years the growth has been explosive. Some good sources-the San Diego Union, the Escondido Times-Advocate (newspapers). For many years the Escondido T-A and the S.D. Union pretty much took care of San Diego and North County. If a relative was in the Navy, he was stationed probably at 32nd St. or Miramar Navy Air Station (5 mi. from Poway).Marines, highly likely Camp Pendleton (North County-Oceanside, Vista, Fallbrook are good choices), maybe San Diego. If you have high school names, I can help narrow it down for you. Any other questions, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Just saying "San Diego Cty" won't work-it's too huge.
